A CASTLE TRANSFORMS INTO LA SCALA
International star Lucia Aliberti sang in the "Kurfürstlichen
Schloss" of Mainz.
From the start, with Weber's "Freischütz"- Overture, it was
evident that an outstanding conductor had been engaged.
HELGE DORSCH drew out first-rate passages of flexible, supple and dynamic
expressions from the Philharmonic Orchestra of Mainz. This was a foundation
the singers could build upon.
...The orchestra played buoyantly and accurately and especially the treble
wind instruments were impressive with their brisk playing.
The audience expressed its enthusiasm with several long minutes of lively
applause.
