The internationally renowned conductor Helge Dorsch came back to Buenos Aires

The internationally renowned conductor Helge Dorsch came back to Buenos Aires to conduct Engelbert Humperdinck's opera "Hansel and Gretel" after a brilliant conducting of Richard Wagner's "Flying Dutchman" in the Teatro Avenida.

WHAT CHARACTERIZED HIS CONDUCTING PARTICULARLY POSITIVELY:

The opera “Hansel and Gretel”, which is very well orchestrated but at times a bit too weighty and “Wagnerian”, represents a great challenge for any conductor.

Helge Dorsch mastered this challenge with flying colors.

The duet scenes, interwoven with children's songs, sounded lively, dance-like and with almost Italian lightness.

The highly romantic forest scene, on the other hand, wonderfully breathed the depth of the German soul and musically sensitively reproduced the rustling and weaving of the forest.

During the famous evening blessing, the strings played so tenderly and soulfully that not a sound could be heard in the audience.

In the witch scene, on the other hand, the grotesque came out perfectly, with sharply polished woodwind contours, threatening, but still with the necessary black humor.

Overall, one can say that the conductor of the Buenos Aires Opera Festival, Helge Dorsch, and his excellent orchestra offered a truly brilliant performance.
