Helge Dorsch was born in Penzberg, Bavaria. He studied conducting, piano, and composition at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts. He also completed summer courses with Prof. Hans Swarowsky in Ossiach and Vienna.
His career began at the age of 20 as a solo répétiteur at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich.
